An unknown but fascinating chapter of European ceramics; with a complete iconography and a dictionary of potters. Early in the 16th century some majolica potters, coming from Venice, settled down in Antwerp and established potteries that produced luxury dishes, floor and wall tiles, albarellos, etc. for more than one century. Due to the invasion of China porcelain, the Antwerp majolica potters converted into faience productions and left for Holland (Delft) where they founded new production centres.
